PSP Boats and Things More Important

June 16th, 2005 by Barry Freed · No Comments

So yesterday I sold the PSP. I finally decided that I just don’t use it enough to warrant keeping it. Honestly, I have probably played it 10 times.

Don’t get me wrong, the PSP is really nice. The picture clarity is amazing and the sound is too. But it’s difficult to play it while telling the dog “Stop it” every seven seconds.

I put it on Craig’s List, and immediatley it sold. So now I have a bit of cash that is going in the “Save Pile”. Of course, this is the money that I’m saving to buy the boat that I want.

So today while looking at boats for sale on Craig’s List, I got an email from my dad. Today’s my mom’s birthday, and I wanted to know if she was at home so I could wish her a happy birthday:

She is working today. She said she was going to call you last night but I said to hold off you’d be calling today. They delivered oxygen for poppy yesterday. Not sure but I think he’s fading fast. If you want, you can try mom by cell phone.

That got to me.

I called my mom to wish her a happy birthday. She asked if I had talked with my grandmother. Apparently, my grandfather won’t eat, has to have oxygen to breathe, and he refuses to go to the doctor. Since he can’t really breathe, his resting heart rate is 140. That’s very bad.

I am going to head back there this weekend. We’re having Kristina’s birthday dinner tonight, and I have meetings at work tomorrow, so I can’t take any time off to go home. And Kristina wanted to go out tomorrow night with friends, who we’ve already invited. So it looks like the three of us will be getting in the car early on Saturday morning and heading back to NY.
