I haven’t been looking at Craig’s List’s Boston site in a long time. I used to check out rants and raves almost daily, but I’ve pretty much given up on it. It’s very predictable.

Rants and Raves Personalities
There are several personality types that are always posting on Craig’s List. You can’t escape them.

You’re a filthy liberal guy- This is the guy that constantly tries to say anyone is a communist, hippy, America-hating, godless tree-hugger no matter what they have posted. Honestly, I once had a post where I asked if anyone knew about an accident I’d seen on Route One, and I was accused of being a liberal asshole. In fact, the guy replied that the accident was caused by Ted Kennedy.

What does that mean? guy- Whenever conversations are going back and forth, it’s inevitable that this guy shows up. For example, if people are talking about Gmail, this guy will post “What the hell is gmail?”. Rather than typing his question in Google and getting the answer, this guy takes the trouble to post his question, submit it, check his email, get the link to verify his post, click the link, and press “post”. A short list of things this guy doesn’t understand: gmail, 4:20, OP, IM, obtuse friendly

Hull Slut guy- I don’t understand this guy at all. He just keep making posts saying that girls from Hull are sluts. That’s all. Sometimes he makes a little joke, sometimes he just makes a blunt post. But he really is committed to his mission….whatever that mission is.

Pawts Guy- Another guy I don’t really understand. He hates the Patriots, and for some reason calls them the Pawts. And pretty much weekly, he writes a post about how much the Patriots suck.

Sex Poll Guy- At least once a week, the guy posts a questionnaire asking people to answer questions about their personal lives. Usually you’ll find about 20 or so questions, with the final question being “would you hook up with the guy that wrote this poll?”

Researcher Girl- statistics on resposes….how many replies, how many married guys responded, how many included pictures, etc.

These are just a few of the many characters on Boston’s Craigslist. You’ll see them there every day.
