On the way in to work this morning, I talked with the same guy I see every day outside Haymarket Station. He’s a panhandler (I don’t know if he’s homeless….though he has made passing references to the “shelter’) who really keeps up-to-date on sports news.

This morning, he started talking about the Red Sox, and how they’d better keep winning because the Yankees aren’t losing. He then said something to the effect of:

“They only got 5 games left, and they play the Yankees in their last 3 games.”

I thought there were more games, so I asked if he was sure. He then went on to tell me that he only knew from what people walking by tell him. Then, with a smile, he said:

“I only know what they tell me……but they could be giving me bum information.”
