I just read on Yahoo that Coke plans to launch a new product called Coca-Cola Blak, which is going to be a “coffee infused soft drink.”
The article goes on to say:
Analysts have said one of the keys to the company’s future is capturing more consumers who have moved away from sugary soft drinks to diet versions, or to healthier low- or no-calorie beverages.
On Coke’s web site, they say:
Coca-Cola BlÄk is an invigorating and stimulating blend that has a perfect balance of the effervescent taste sensation of Coca-Cola and natural flavors, with real coffee. The lightly carbonated, mid-calorie beverage, which is designed to appeal to adult consumers, is yet another example how The Coca-Cola Company reaches out to new audiences and addresses new beverage occasions.
I’ve never heard of a “beverage occasion.” But I love it. And I plan to use it. In fact, right now I am thirsty, and I believe it is a beverage occasion. I think of it as a “thirst situation”, but that’s just me.
Here’s a picture of the bottle’s design (the font looks just like Tab’s font to me):

Okay, so I could be totally wrong here, but I thought that the “Ä” is pronounced like the “a” in “fate.” Does that mean instead of being pronounced “black” this drink will be called “blake”?
