Well, I’ve only got a few days left with Toby. Sure, he’s annoying sometimes, but I can’t really imagine not having him around.

My plan, so far, is for him to stay with Kristina for July and August, and get him when I move in September…..wherever that may be.

I honestly loathe moving. It is the worst. And now I’m going to have to do it twice.

So now I am trying to figure out where I’m going. I’ve been looking around aggressively for my next gig…..with little to no luck whatsoever. I think it’s about time to broaden my search. Here’s where I would move to:

1. Washington D.C.
2. Raleigh N.C.
3. Austin, TX
4. San Diego, CA

My goal is to move somewhere that makes some sense. A full 50% of my pay each month is spent on housing and related expenses. For an apartment. And I have absolutely nothing to show for it.

Call me unrealistic, but here are some of my basic wishes:

1. A house: Though you could get a 500 square foot studio apartment half an hour outside of Boston for about $100,000 that really doesn’t appeal to me. I don’t want anything huge…..just a place with a couple of rooms and a small yard.
2. A job I can drive to: This is nearly impossible here. I could drive into the city to my current job, but that would cost about $300 per month. I hear there are cities in this country that have actual parking lots. That would be amazing.

Just two.

I’ve got four more days with Toby until he leaves for the summer. This stinks.
