The first part of this post is going to be a little bit cryptic. The reason? Someon played a very funny practical joke on me….at least I hope it was just a joke, and they don’t think I’m that desperate.

So, to you, and you know who you are: very funny. But I think it would have been funnier if you either a) forwarded me any responses (or maybe there weren’t any!) b) made me sound less angry…really, am I that mean sounding? d) at least anonymously sent me the link after you posted.

You got me. I thank you for the effort and laud you for your resourcefulness (you even took my picture from my other blog….very nice). If you are who I think you are, know that I will get you back.

Okay, now that I’ve said that…………..

I got to the parking lot at the T Station after work to find my tire entirely flat. Great. But, right then, an older fellow wearing a bow tie asked if I wanted to use his air compressor. Turns out he had the exact same thing happen to him a few weeks ago, and he now always brings his compressor with him. That was awesome. I got the tire back to 32 psi and thanked him repeatedly.

I then drove to a gas station to get some gas, and on the way back, a red light came on: the car was overheating. Sweet.

I pulled over at a Dunkin’ Donuts and poured in as much as I could. When I started the car, I was hoping I could just get close to home. As I was driving, the pin went all the way to the end….past red. I was at the “Dude, your car is about to blow up” level, and there was nowhere to pull over. I was going to be stuck…..

But nothing happened. By the time I got near the beach, the pin was going back down. Finally it was at the “Dude, stop freaking out, we just needed some more coolant, that’s all.” level.

Two crises averted. One was due to the kindness of strangers, the other, coolant. Now that’s not a bad way to start a weekend. Yeeah.
