So I started off the weekend with a flat tire and an overheated car. Two problems that occured almost simultaneously. And now?
No brakes.
Seriously. When I was driving on Saturday night I noticed that I had to basically put my foot to the floor to get the brakes to respond. Then the brake! light came on. I was able to get the car home, and yesterday I added some much needed brake fluid. The light went off and it seemed like the problem was solved.
So, this morning I decided to drive in to work. I really wanted to get here early to get some things accomplished. After 10 minutes or so of driving, the light came on and I basically had zero pressure on the brakes. I literally had to put my foot to the ground to get the car to even slow down.
I was near the Wellington T Station, so I maneuvered the car into their lot. I did this because there’s a Monroe down the street, and I’m thinking about bringing it there after work today. But, as always, there’s a new dilemma. I don’t get paid until Friday, and have no idea what this is going to cost me to fix it. So, my plan is this: drive it to Monroe after work and ask them to look at it, which I’m sure they won’t be able to do until tomorrow. Depending on the cost, I’ll see if they can get it done for me for Friday morning. That way, I can wait until Friday to pay them……we’ll see if that works out.
I took Friday off to go to Evan and Andrea’s wedding in NH, which would be a long, dangerous ride without the use of brakes.
