A friend forwarded this to me and I thought it was definitely worth posting here.
On Friday, October 27, at The Attic, in Newton MA, atop the Union St. Bar & Grill, Red Square will be holding its First Annual Concert to Benefit Children’s Hospital. The evening will include costumerie, with a special prize for the best costume (to be chosen by the band), a raffle with prizes donated by various local merchants and all-around generous folks, and of course, dancing and fantastic music from the best cover band in New England, Red Square.
Earlier this year, Red Square was toying with the idea of putting on a benefit show, to do some good in the community while having a great time and introducing more people to our style of playing music. The plans were little more than an abstract idea until our guitarist, Haril Pandya, and his wife Seema had their second child, and complications arose. Nirvan Pandya was born with a hole in his heart, and underwent several operations to repair it in the first month of his life. Throughout it all, the staff of Children’s Hospital were incredibly supportive of Haril and Seema, their young daughter Orissa and of course, little Nirvan.
Haril and the rest of Red Square decided to make their idea a reality. With the support of their fans, friends, and families, Red Square hopes to raise a huge pile of cash for Children’s Hospital, to give back a little of what the Pandyas received from them, and support their efforts with families in the future.
