Lately I’ve been coming up with project ideas on a near weekly basis. But the problem is: I come up with so many of them that none of them go anywhere.

I’d love to be able to give 100% effort to them, but there’s simply not enough time. Between my 40 hr/week job, this blog, the other blog, trying to get better at digital photography, all my side gigs, and trying to define and code the projects I’m already working on, there’s not much more time to develop new things.

But this morning, I came up with something that seems fairly simple. I’m sure something like it is already being done somewhere……I just haven’t seen it yet. The idea: a Blog Scavenger Hunt.

Here’s the idea: You have one central blog that lists different cities. Advertisers would have contests where players have to go out and find clues, and the winner(s) win prizes. Fairly simple and fairly effective.

Also, in order to promote blogs, it could combine finding things in the real world with finding things in blogs. So, you could have bloggers place “easter eggs” in their posts, and readers would have to go to said blogs to find them.

It would be a win-win: Advertisers get lots of exposure. Blogs get a new source of traffic. And readers win prizes and get exposed to new blogs they’ve never seen before.

The name? Blogengerhunt.com. I just bought the domain this morning and stuck a generic blog template there. I’d like to hear any ideas, suggestions, or just whether anyone thinks this idea would work.
