Weekend

October 2nd, 2006 by Barry Freed · 1 Comment

This weekend was a productive one, and because of it, I started this week relaxed, refreshed, and ready to take on the world. I don’t remember the last time I felt like that.

I think it is safe to say that I’m easily amused. It really doesn’t take much to get me all excited. Case in point: on Saturday, my plan was to vacuum the inside of my car. I drove to the car wash, and the line was ridiculously long to use the coin-op vacuums. Instead of waiting, I had a great idea: I’m going to get a shop vac.

I drove to Target and that’s just what I did. I got a shop vac and a tire gague, and I couldn’t have been more excited. I have no idea why.

I spent the rest of the day on Saturday cleaning my place. And my car. With a shop vac. I don’t know if it’s just one of those ingrained guy things that you just can’t avoid (like getting excited because you get to use something in your toolbox even though you have absolutely zero mechanical skills whatsoever- or dreaming of having a bar with a pool table in your basement).

Yesterday I had to go to the gallery for Artist Drop Off Day. I didn’t have a radio with me, so I couldn’t follow any of the football games, so I spent the three hours there taking photos of the gallery and trying to read a very, very old book about the transition from Ape to Human.

Good things this weekend:

After reading this, I began thinking about toys that grown men like (shop vacs and grills), and toys kids like (educational or just plain fun)
    Anyone remember Power Wheels?
