So, I’ve posted the first of the Interviews With Regular People series, and as promised, I bit the bullet and was the first guinea pig (Thanks to Evan for the questions). Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, I’d love some suggestions for other interview subjects you’d like to see. I already have a few in mind that I think are interesting, and I’m already thinking of the questions. But I’m VERY open to suggestions. And again, I don’t need you to even give me individuals…you could say: “I’d like to see an interview with a chimney sweep.”

It’s so bizarre that you mentioned an interview with a Chimney Sweep because I had my chimney cleaned on Monday and I was so fascinated by how someone gets into that business that I asked the guy. In a nutshell…he used to manage horse stables in N.H., then moved to VA and worked in fox hunting (with the horses I assume), he then moved back to NH but the horse industry was in a lull. He saw an ad for a by-mail certificate for chimney sweep and sent away for the $1,300 booklet. After cleaning all his friends chimneys and getting certified, he now has a successful business after 20 years. He works part time at the local golf course but does clean chimneys all year. I was surprised to learn that he gets at least 1-2 jobs a day all year long. So there you have it…an interview with a chimney sweep (who looks and sounds just like Ned Flanders from The Simpsons).

I interviewed Bob this weekend, I figured he was just a regular “guy” and that I might learn a lot, I sure did!! He is really smart too, the interview could have went on for hours! Unfortunately, he got hungry and had to run to the store for some food at 2am.
