Yesterday I was listening to Opie and Anthony, and they were debating a hypothetical. The question: If you could bring someone from hundreds of years ago to the present, what invention or technological advancement would they be most amazed by?
Anthony talked about the airplane. The thought that we now can travel thousands of miles in such a short amount of time would be mind-blowing to someone from the past, right?
Guest Patrice O’Neal disagreed. He thought that since people have always watched birds in flight, they’ve always thought that someday humans would harness the power of flight somehow, so instead of planes, he felt that the computer would be most amazing.
Finally Than, one of the O&A producers said the most amazing thing would be the time machine that brought the person from the past to the present. Nice.
What would you consider the most mind-blowing invention or advancement that we have? Something that a person that died, say 200 years ago would be absolutely amazed by.

A teleconferencing setup would be pretty unbelievable to someone from 200 years ago. How amazed would they be by being able to connect, in real time, to another person across the country, or even on the other side of the world? No paper mail or pony express here, just a live picture of someone thousands of miles away, that you’re speaking to.
