So I may have just bought a car a couple of days ago. Let me explain.
On Saturday I went to the Nissan dealership to take a look at cars. Since taking this new gig, I drive about 50-60 miles a day. Couple that with driving a 91 Buick and you’ve got about 9-10 miles per gallon and a lot of money spent on gas. Add tolls and it’s just stupid to keep driving that beast.
Back to the story
I went to the dealership and saw a car that, despite the fact that it is ugly, was perfect for me. A small car, yet very safe. Great gas mileage. Not very expensive. I took it on a test drive and thought it was great. Plus, it has a cool bluetooth feature: as long as you have the key in your pocket, you only need to touch the door for it to unlock. VERY cool.
After the test drive, the salesman asked: “Are you prepared to buy a car today?” I’d already explained to him that I wanted to put some money down on a car when I was ready to buy and that I wasn’t ready for that yet. I was only there to hear some numbers. Well, after hearing some numbers, I was very happy with what I was looking at. I told them that if my insurance didn’t increase drastically, I would be happy with the car.
So they asked me if I’d be willing to put a deposit down on it. 100% refundable. So I did.
I’m going back tonight to talk a little further about numbers. But I think I might have bought a car…..maybe.

Yay! New car… that’s the best feeling. Have fun! It’s so exciting at first…looks to be a good size for Boston area parallel parking!
