Oh How I Hate The Sprint Web Site

by Barry Freed on May 24, 2007

Sprint is my cell provider. I’ve been with them for years. The service and price are decent, so I don’t really complain. But their web site is a steaming pile of shit. I intend to prove that to you right now. If you click on the pictures, you’ll get a full-scale screenshot showing you exactly what I mean and why I am enraged right now.

The Goal: Do a little research to get a new phone. Mine is cracked and does not have bluetooth. I want a bluetooth capable phone.

1. The customer home page:

Keep in mind the fact that this is the page I get to after signing in to my account. So I’ve already been to the login page. So, I click on the link that says: Shop. I’m then taken to:

2. The home page again.

You’ll notice that I’m no longer signed in. And I’m also not at a page that allows me to shop or even look at new phones, which is what I want to do. Okay, minor setback, right? So I’ll now click on the link that says: “Shop & Browse Sprint PCS Phones.” Makes sense, right? I think so. Well, that takes me to……..

3. The “New Line of Service Page”

Wonderful. I want to look at phones, so they’re having me sign up for a new line of service. That makes sense. But wait, there’s an option there that says: Upgrade your current phone. Well, that’s kind of related to what I want, so let me click that.

4. The “New To You” page

Right……I’m now at a page that can check to see whether I’m able to get a phone upgrade because I’m a loyal customer. But guess what I have to do first? SIGN IN AGAIN!!!!! I ALREADY DID THAT!!!!!!!!!!

5. But, since I’ve already wasted so much time on this absolutely infuriating, confusing, random piece of shit, might as well try. So, I enter my login and:

Hey look: I’m eligible! Isn’t that great? I can save money on a new phone if I want. That’s wonderful. But hey, I have an idea: why don’t you guys show me some phones? Then I could buy one! And look: there’s a link on the right side that says “Upgrade Today! Shop Online”. So I click it and get:

Nothing. A blank screen. It just stops there.

Just show me some phones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I won’t complain about the T-Mobile personal homepage always being serviced and updated every time I have to pay my bill.

You are lucky, I want to upgrade my nextel and it just tells me to call a phone number. YEAH thats gunna help me. Just TELL me what it looks like and that will be fine. WTF? Sprint “together with nextel” blows. AND Nextel was the only service to work at my house, and I am starting to get “NO SIGNAL” (in the same locations where I had four bars before)! I am going to be really cheesed if they are messing with my service.
BUT I AGREE: JUST SHOW ME SOME PHONES.
