We’ve Done it All

Wait a second….what the hell am I listening to? Or: I have to make excuses to myself for having awful stuff on my iPod and actually listening to it. Longest title ever for a useless post. Plus, Movie Theater Sign Picture Goodness. And inconsistent capitalization.

What the hell? I’m in a very strange mood apparently, because I thought I was feeling fairly happy and energetic, but when I put my playlist together, I put the following songs on it:

  1. Billy Joel- She’s Got a Way
  2. Dashboard Confessional- Best Deceptions
  3. Dashboard Confessional- Screaming Infidelities
  4. Evanessence- Lithium
  5. Radiohead- I Might Be Wrong
  6. Tom Waits- I Hope That I Don’t Fall In Love With You
  7. Tom Waits- Please Call Me Baby

What the hell? I mean, my morning playlist is usually filled with songs that get me energized. You know, some Manson, maybe a little Slipknkot, some old punk stuff, etc. This is weird. Taking a step back, it looks like I actually want to make myself feel down or something. Ever done that before? I can’t think of a time where I’ve consciously (or subconsciously) tried to make myself less happy.

And Billy Joel? Seriously? Dude. What’s my excuse for even HAVING that on my iPod? Do you have songs on your iPod that you have to make excuses for? The kind that you would hide from a friend…….

All right, this is a completely useless post. So let me try to turn it around.

Yesterday Evan sent me a link to this photo, which is making the rounds through sites like reddit and digg:

Which made me remember this gem:

Fin.

Come on, you know you loved Billy Joel when you were 12, and memorized every song on “Greatest Hits Vol. I & II”. Or wait. Maybe that was me. Crap. Never mind.

    1) I like your new design, is there a story behind the big ball of yarn? Is that a reference to your cat? Do you still even have that cat?

    2) You don’t even know from embarassing songs on your iPod. A friend once asked to borrow mine, and I stammered for thirty solid seconds trying to come up with a reason why I couldn’t give it to him; becuase the music is that embarassing. Let’s just say there is more than one Lisa Loeb song on there. *shame*

Credit where credit is due: our friend Liz sent that pic (Pirates) to me, which I sent to Nate.

Thanks for the plug though. Oh wait, nothing to plug. Maybe I should redo my own blog, which never really went anywhere.

Hmmm. New design here is inspiring…

Jason: Okay, you’re right. I’m absolutely guilty of that.

Sarah: Yarn is gone now, that’s just left over from the theme I adapted for my work blog that I won’t mention here…..

Evan: Ah, didn’t realize that. All praise to Liz. Who’s Nate? Yeah dude, get your shit together on that blog and plug opportunities will abound.

You ever have one of those embarassing tunes start to play on your ipod while in public, and go into a brief panic, freaking out because you’ve temporarily forgotten that you’re the only one (at the moment) who can hear how awful your taste in music is?

Sometimes I worry that the people on the train can read my thoughts.

That is my favorite Billy Joel song, so you can blame me…although you never KNEW it was my favorite. So nevermind. It’s all your fault.
