So, a little over a week ago I celebrated my last birthday before I can no longer trust myself. And I did what I do every year: I buy myself something that I’ve always wanted, but could never justify buying. I bought a .wav/.mp3 field recorder. It’s fairly ridiculous and I’m sure I’ll use it to do things like record shows and catalog the antics of the THF crew, but I have no pressing need for this thing.

And thinking back, this is a recurring theme:

• I got a flip video but VERY rarely use the thing.
• I got a PS3 with RockBand, and almost never use it.
• I’ve always wanted a really nice DV camcorder, but know if I had one, I’d never touch it.
• I have an awesome DigitalSLR camera, and love it, but hardly every use it because it’s so big, and I feel like an idiot using it.

I take consolation in thinking I’m not alone here. I’m guessing you all have things that you’d love to have or that you’ve bought, knowing you have no use for it whatsoever. Well, whaddya got?
