A Smattering of Beer Accessories

April 7th, 2008 by Barry Freed · 1 Comment

So I’m a geek. Seriously. It’s true and there’s no sense in denying it. While working today, I was checking out a new collaborative filtering based shopping recommendation engine. Very cool. They’re leveraging the google maps API to show things like "Someone in Altoona discovered the following T-Shirt" and it shows a thumbnail and a link.

Well, I then went to the site and saw a tag cloud. One of the most frequently searched terms on the site: BEER. So I went deep into the catalog and found some real gems. There are some truly interesting beer accessories out there. Here are a few of the best:

The Ultimate Beer Belt Six Can Holder- Here’s what people are saying:

The Ultimate Beer Belt Six-Can Holster is the only belt you’ll ever need to wear to a party. Simply snap it on, load it up with six tall boys in the pockets and your’re ready for beer chugging showdown. The belt is made of insulated mold foam which helps to keep those beers nice and cold until it’s time for you DRAW, pardner!

The Beer Belly

This ingeniously designed beer dispenser looks just like an ordinary beer belly when worn under your clothes and holds up to 80oz of beer or liquor!

It holds 80 ounces of beer.

The Classic Beer Helmet-

Beer Helmets, Beer Helmets, BEER Helmets! Once your drunk enough this fashion accessory will absolutely blind your cohorts with envy. The height of rusted out Chevy on cinder block culture. When you can only hold two beers in your hands and its a four beer party, you know what you must do.

Beer Can Wraps-

Do you feel like enjoying a cold brew, but it just so happens to not be allowed? Whether you are at the beach, the park, the office, a movie theater, shopping, a funeral or any other mildly prohibited non-drinking location or establishment, simply whip out one of these vinyl and reusable Beer Can Wraps ($6). These stealth wrappers look just like real soda pop can labels so you can instantly convert a beer can into a soda can and nobody would be the wiser. Of course, these are simply meant to be fun novelties (I wouldn’t take the risk) and are not recommended for underage drinking, drivers, machinery operators, construction crews, teachers, priests, etc. So have fun and be responsible people.

The Cruzin Cooler-

Cruise around in style with a cold beverage and food close by with the Cruzin Cooler, a lightweight electric scooter with a built-in cooler. It’s able to travel up to 13 miles per hour and has a 250-pound rider weight capacity. Ideal for tailgating, camping, picnics, soccer games, or any sporting event, the cooler is light enough to be driven to a location and then picked up and carried. It holds up to 24 canned beverages and ice and includes a drink-access lid and holder. Some assembly is required; all necessary tools are included.

Got any others?

I’ve thought about that beer belly a few times. The only problem is universality. Sure, you might get away with bringing it to a high school football game, but concerts? big league parks? There’s no way even the blindest, drunkest security guy wouldn’t catch on that there was something wrong with you in a pat-down.

Beer Helmets are more like it.

What about liquor? The cell-phone-shaped flask?
