A lot of people shit on Boston’s beloved Manny for not hustling, goofing off, and being an elusive douchebag to the media. Well, what do you have to say about this play? Of course, this is a contract year for Manny, so he’s got a little more spring in his step out in left field.
A couple notes on this video:
-notice how loud the crowd (in Baltimore) cheers when he makes this play. No Red Sox Nation? Go fly a kite, Steinbrenner.
-Arm strength. He barely ever uses his body to throw. He just whips that arm and throws a strike. Every time.
-The child-like grin on his face after the play. This is a guy who plays a game for a living, and it shows. He’s just having a good time.

I do agree with you, Manny looks like he’s having more fun than anyone else out there. Which is cool to see. It does irk me that no matter where the Sox play there are always TONS of fans to support them. Id be fine with it if we could do an ID check for each person. When did you start liking the Red Sox? Why do you like the Red Sox? etc. If the answers come back as 1) when they beat the Yankees in 2004 and because everyone else does then they should be punched in the ear. Just my opinion.
p.s. it’s 97 in SF today. A record high.

What a great clip! It’s hard not to want to watch more baseball after seeing someone like Manny’s obvious and infectious joy of playing the game. Even for someone like me who really doesn’t dig baseball that much.
And as far as Magglio getting irked about fair weather fans, I hear where you’re coming from, definitely. I really used to get off on being the FIRST to love something. Get over it and get used to it. No point complaining because it’s human nature and ain’t nothin’ can be done about it.
