Even if that changes in the next couple of days, it’s nice to say right now. Almost nobody is giving the Sox a chance against the 100-win Angels in the playoffs, and with good reason. The Angels have a rocket-gun starting rotation, we have a couple of holes…[coughdaisukecough]. The Angels have a power-hitting lineup with few weak spots. Ortiz is not the same batter he was last year, and Varitek, well he’s Varitek. Best catcher in the game hands down, but not exactly Mr. Clutch.

So yeah, they are statistically a better team.

But nobody touches Boston in the postseason. A lot of teams have learned that in the last few years, and the Angels are the next students in the class.
