I’m saying to all you guys out there what my fiancee already knows. I’m addicted to Yelp. The user-community site of reviews of everything out there from bars and restaurants to clothing stores and abstract concepts. In fact, it was a Yelp review of “the future” that inspired the thoughts behind yesterday’s post.  But Yelp is starting to have a weird meta-effect on me, too. I’ve rejected places to eat simply because I would be ashamed to admit to the Yelp community that I’d eaten there.

Steven Colbert and John Stewart are competing for funniest bastard on the planet. Right now, Steven Colbert is in the lead. But only by a nose.

Obama admitted that he used drugs as a young adult, and calls it the worst mistake he ever made. Dubya sort of mumbled something about using drugs, but never really got out in front of it. This is one of the many reasons why people respect Obama, and think G-dub is a tool.

The word “turgid” makes me ill.

My fiancee and I got a priest and a rabbi to co-officiate our wedding; it’s apparently pretty rare to find two guys who will do that together. They’re the awesomest people I’ve met in a long time. In our wedding program I want to have “A priest and a rabbi…” jokes printed in small letters at the bottom of each page.

The “25 Things…” bullcrap floating around Facebook has gotten out of hand. I don’t know 25 things about myself that I care to post to the web, and I damn sure don’t want to know 25 things about you. If I know you well enough to call you up and ask you, just assume I already know everything I wanted to know about you.

Eating low sugar instant oatmeal is kind of like eating wet masonry cement.
