Q: What does “Tell Him Fred” mean?

A: It’s an Opie and Anthony Reference. A fan of theirs once called in to the Howard Stern Show when Howard was complaining about being ripped off by everyone. The caller asked “What about WOW (Whip ‘em out Wednesdays) ?” Howard said that was his idea. “Oh yeah, real original. When I was in Detroit I had listeners tie bandanas around their cars so women would get naked. I’ve done it all. Tell him Fred.”

So now, whenever someone rips someone off, they say “Tell him Fred.” Some sites say that the quote really is “Tell ‘em Fred.” They’re probably right, but I just thought that Tell Him Fred was a better name for a blog.

Q: Who are Opie and Anthony?

A: They are radio personalities that have a show on XM Satellite Radio. [Edit: and now on CBS Radio] They used to be on WAAF in Worcester MA before being syndicated nationwide. They were then thrown off the air after a prank called “Sex for Sam”.

A: We are a group of Boston-based gentlemen (and sometimes a lady will throw in a post) that decided to make this site a multi-author blog.
